Magnolia Makeup Spring and Summer Collection: Big Easy and Indian Summers

Hello to all my Beauty Junkies,

Welcome back! I have have been keeping busy traveling to IMATS and The Makeup Show and I have tons of stuff to share with you over the next couple weeks.

Today I will be sharing my Magnolia Makeup Haul from the Makeup Show. I was super excited to see Tia and Niala manning the booth. Another reason I was excited to see them is because I knew that they had the new summer collection with them. I bought the 2 latest collections and I have one more I'm interested in (Neutral Ground 2).  So without further ado, on to the swatches.

Indian Summer Collection

The 2012 summer collection is chocked full of shimmery goodness. There are no mattes in this collection. Just unadulterated shimmer and shine. All of the swatches are done with no base or primer.

Big Chief is a beautiful mid tone blue base with light blue shimmer.

Brass Band is a copper based pigment with champagne shimmer.

Second Line is a deep purple base with lilac pink shimmer.

Le Bon Temps (love the name! I suspect this is an ode to True Blood) is a emerald green base with a light gold shimmer.

Buck Jump is a duo chrome pigment that combines light pink and light purple sheen. It is an awesome color that I can't wait to play with!

Plumes is a light green color with a light gold sheen.

Funky Liza is my top pick for the collection. This is a light gold beige duo chrome with a green sheen. OMG the picture does not do it justice.

Big Easy Collection

This spring collection had a mixture of 4 mattes and 3 shimmers. I love the bold deep colors in this collection.
The namesake of the collection (Big Easy) is a pink and copper shimmers.

Ponchatoula is a deep fuchsia matte pink shade.

Sassafras is a grass green base with true gold shimmers. Creole Mustard is a deep rich true mustard yellow color. This is an interesting color and I can't wait to incorporate it into my collection.

Bywater is a very nice periwinkle color with a pearl sheen. My favorite of the collection.

Regal is a deep blue based purple.

Tchoupitoulas is a deep green-blue color. This would be a great alternative to the using black to deepen the crease.

As you can see, Tia and Niala outdid themselves with these two collections. I have never been disappointed in a Magnolia pigment and I truly feel I never will. To get this type of pigmentation without the use of a base is almost on heard of. Some of the big name major brands can compare to this independent company's work. It is unbelievable. I stan for Magnolia Makeup and I'm not ashamed!

Magnolia Makeup Storefront Visit

Hello Beauty Junkies,

I would like to apologize for being away so long. I have been working, traveling and researching tons of beauty products.  But fear not, I'm back and ready to share my love of beauty with you and the world.

I recently took a trip to New Orleans for Mardi Gras. Two good friends of mine are getting married (Congrats to Robert and Christy) and invited me and 13 other people to celebrate their future union (read: Bachelor/Bachlorette Party on Bourbon Street. Yes, be super jealous...). I was excited to go and even more excited once I got news that the Magnolia Makeup Company was opening a storefront right before I was scheduled visit the Big Easy.

Tia, and Niala, Magnolia Makeup Founders

With so many of us there, It was easy for me to slip away for a few hours to travel a few miles to go visit the store front. I hoped in a cab and headed over to 612 Julia Street bubbling over with anticipation. As I approached the door, I was surprised to see both Tia and Niala, who are the founders of Magnolia Makeup, sitting there. After a brief introductions (Niala recognized my name from my many orders and comments of FB), We were off to discussions in the world of makeup and surveying the shop.

Blush, Foundation and Glitter displays

OMG, I had died and gone to pigment heaven! The store was awesome. Everything that I had freted and drooled over online was availible for me to see and swatch until my hearts content. But the bonus was have Tia and Niala there to walk me through the stories of making the colors, best uses, and colors combinations. They also told me about the plans for makeup classes and artisty services in their beautiful new studio.

Blush, Lip Fixes and Highlighters

I had an amazing time at the Magnolia Makeup Store and an even better time talking with these sisters. They were super friendly and very helpful.  It you haven't seen my original reveiw of the pigments,  please click here. If you don't follow my blog, You many not know that I don't own all the pigments, but I have most of them. And I didn't let that stop me from picking up a few that I didn't own and 2 glitters (I know, I need an intervention!)

Here are some more pictures of the displays:

Foundations

Glitters

Pigments!!

Fleur De Fab Collection

Magnolia Makeup will be celebrating their Grand Opening on Staurday, March 3, 2012 at 7pm. If your in town, I highly suggest you check it out. The trip will be well worth it. But rest assured if your not in town, you can always order online. All I can really say is run, don't walk to the nearest computer and visit them at http://www.magnolia-makeup.com/. If you don't believe me, just order a few and check the quality for yourself. I know you will be more than pleasantly surprised.

That is all for now. Please be on the look out for upcoming reviews and favs post and videos.
